Jeremy Ranch prescribed burn smoke visible in Summit County

Fire crews conduct prescribed burns north of Jeremy in Summit County Dec. 2, 2025.

Forestry officials are taking advantage of the cold, wet weather to complete prescribed burns this week.

Utah Fire Info said crews will burn 2,500 piles on about 70 acres of land.

The burns are meant to reduce wildfire risk and protect nearby homes and property.

Smoke will be visible. County officials ask residents to not report it.
