A barge holding a crane allows workers to perform construction under water.

The Deer Creek Intake Project is still underway and the state park is reminding visitors of closures over Labor Day weekend.

Sailboat Beach, at the southern end of the reservoir, is closed through March 2026 to accommodate construction machinery.

The closure extends into the reservoir where boats and barges will be docked when not in use.

Park officials say violators will be ticketed and asks boaters to not cross into the buoyed area.
