Governor Gary Herbert named Summit County Rep. Logan Wilde as the new commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food on Friday.
In a prepared statement, the governor said Rep. Logan Wilde, R-Croyden is the perfect fit for the position. “He is a great leader, and as a rancher himself, his expertise in agriculture will greatly benefit the department. “
From 1998 to now Wilde has worked as a managing partner at M.R. Wilde and Sons. He served as chair of the Morgan County Council, and as chairman of the Weber-Morgan Board of Health. In 2016, he was elected to serve in the Utah House of Representatives for District 53.
Wilde said he’s excited to serve in this new capacity and is honored to do so.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
