Local skiers slated to compete at Cortina World Cup

After collecting her first World Cup victory in Austria Sunday, Parkite Lauren Macuga is preparing to push out of the start gate again this weekend.

The fourth stop of the women’s World Cup speed circuit is in Cortina d'Ampezzo with a downhill race Saturday and super G on Sunday.

Macuga will be joined by U.S. teammate Lindsey Vonn who has 12 Cortina wins, the most recent in 2018.

Also competing for the U.S. is Utah native Isabella Wright who skied for Snowbird Sports Education Foundation.

U.S. Ski Team members Jacqueline Wiles, Breezy Johnson, Tricia Mangan, Keely Cashman, Allison Mollin and Haley Cutler are also slated to start in the downhill race Saturday.
