Midway honors town founders with weekend celebration

Midway Mayor Celeste Johnson and volunteers stand around a just-planted decorative tree for Midway's Founders and Arbor day.

Midway’s annual Founders Day celebration is this weekend.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, volunteers can plant flowers and trees at any Midway Park, excluding Alpenhof and Michi Lane.

After that the town will celebrate its founders with free lunch, games, an opportunity drawing and live music from noon to 2 p.m. at the Town Square.
