ReporterAlexander joined KPCW in 2021 after two years reporting on Summit County for The Park Record. While there, he won many awards for covering issues ranging from school curriculum to East Side legacy agriculture operations to land-use disputes. He arrived in Utah by way of Madison, Wisconsin, and western Massachusetts, with stints living in other areas across the country and world. When not attending a public meeting or trying to figure out what a PID is, Alexander enjoys skiing, reading and watching the Celtics.

A judge denied a request from prominent Park City attorney Joe Wrona that he be allowed to travel while felony rape charges against him are pending.

There were primary elections in Summit and Wasatch counties to set the field for two local school board races and a handful of higher offices. In Park City, preliminary results show 29 votes to be the difference between a spot on the ballot and the end of the race. In South Summit, that margin was three.

Last November, Park City voters approved a tax increase to pay for a portion of the school district’s $130 million facilities plan. On Tuesday, the school board recommended raising taxes by an additional $3.6 million to pay for salary increases and potential building cost overruns.
