"GEN_" director Gianluca Matarrase previews this entry to the World Cinema Documentary Competition. At Milan's Niguarda public hospital, the unconventional Dr. Maurizio Bini leads a bold mission to alleviate human suffering. He oversees the dreams of aspiring parents undergoing IVF with the journeys of individuals reconciling their bodies with their gender identities. Operating in a politically charged environment that tests the limits of medical ethics and political correctness, Dr. Bini navigates the constraints set by a conservative government and an aggressive market eager to commodify bodies.
