Snyderville Planning Commission To Consider Building Complex On Old Ranch Road

Meeting in regular session Tuesday, the Snyderville Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and consider a recommendation on a proposal for several accessory structures in a residential/recreational complex along Old Ranch Road.

The Snyderville Commission will meet at the Richins Services Building (and also on Zoom) with its regular session starting at 6 p.m.

The Old Ranch Road project is a requested amendment to a Low Impact Permit (or LIP,) which normally gets a final decision from Development Director Pat Putt.    However, he can refer an application to the Planning Commission for a vote if he believes the public might be interested in weighing in.

The applicant, Blair Frank, who owns a 10-acre parcel on the south side of Old Ranch, is asking for a 1000-square-foot caretaker’s cottage and detached garage; a horse stable of 2800 square feet and an outdoor corral; a swimming pool with a 300-square-foot pavilion; a tennis court; and a one-and-a-half acre fishing pond.

The request would amend a Low Impact Permit that was granted in late May for a single-family house on the parcel; and another LIP for a barn granted in early August.

Earlier in the day, the Planning Commission’s work session starts at 4:30.

The Planning Commission will get an introduction to a proposal from the Ivers family for their “red barn” property, located at the intersection of Highway 224 and White Pine Canyon Road.

The family is proposing three uses on the nearly four-acre parcel.

The Iverses will continue the retail use in the Red Barn, which currently houses the Contender Bicycles shop.    The old Ivers home, now unoccupied, would change to an office/commercial use.    And they would build a 15-20,000-square-foot office building on the north end of the property.
