On Tuesday, a dump truck filled with gravel lost its brakes on Marsac Avenue as it was coming down Ontario Canyon south of Park City. It was by all measures a harrowing event that resulted in limited injuries to the truck driver and the driver of the Dodge Pickup truck that was hit. We have reported on the accident and a video of the racing truck can be seen on KPCW.org. Park City Municipal has safety systems in place that help prevent this sort of accident from happening more frequently. Carolyn Murray has this:

The Utah Highway Patrol is reporting that a tanker truck this weekend struck a pedestrian who was walking on Highway 40 at night.

The UHP reported that the fatality happened shortly after 3:00 am Saturday morning. An oil tanker truck that was heading south, just before entering Heber, hit a male pedestrian who was in the roadway.

He was wearing dark clothing, and the highway is unlit in that area. The Highway Patrol reported that the pedestrian didn't have any identification and was apparently a transient.

Two motorists were hospitalized this weekend after a single-car accident was discovered near Interstate 80 at Lamb’s Canyon.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that apparently, early on Saturday morning, a Ford F250 truck was traveling westbound on I-80 and veered into the median.

It crashed between the two bridges at Lamb’s Canyon, went airborne, and came to rest on its top on Lamb’s Canyon Road.

Two people who were out for a morning run reported the crash at 6:00 am.
